Coastal Foraging

Join Capt. Joe Sanfilippo and other local foragers for an adventure in collecting and preparing food from the shorelines of Cape Ann. Capt. Sanfilippo will cover the harvest and preparation of various species including bubaluzi (periwinkle), retzi (sea urchin), and other local shellfish, such as soft shell clam, oyster, surf clam, and razor clam.

Joe is a 30 year veteran of the commercial fishing industry and a graduate of UGB (University of George’s Bank). As owner/manager/instructor of Extreme Gloucester Fishing Commercial Fishing Training Center, Joe offers the only industry-specific modularized training of its kind in the United States.
