What could it look like to prioritize collaborative resilience in the face of a shifting physical, cultural and social environment in Gloucester?

This is the question that prompted the formation of Gloucester SaLT (Sea and Land Together) in 2022 and continues to guide the direction of our organization. SaLT aims to reconnect people to place and heighten a sense of belonging through education and promotion of our local food systems. In particular, we focus on all aspects of this food system—food that is grown on land, food that is harvested from the sea, and the interconnectedness of both land and sea-based food systems.
